  1. The meanest factory drag cars ever built were the 68 Darts/Barracudas with the 12.5:1 compression 426 Race Hemi with dual quads on a cross ram intake. Definitely good for 600 plus horsepower easily. There's so many great ones…the 409 Chevy's, the 65 Biscayne 396/425 and 66 Biscayne 427/425, and the Chevy Camaro ZL1 and 427 COPO cars, the 390/406/427 Ford Starliners/ Galaxies and 427 Ford Fairlanes/Mercury Comets, the 389/421 Super Duty Pontiacs, and the 62-64 413/426 Max Wedge and 426 Race Hemi Mopar lightweights

  2. 1:34 were those stock or corvair tailights, dont know my mopars that well
BAck then engines were made to be visually appealing also digging it. Not this tupperware garbage today I dont care how good they are

  3. I guess if I really wanted to visit the YT channels I could copy them down from what you showed in the video. (You could have had links in the info section).

  4. the buick 430 in 69 what an engine anyone who has looked at the casting and machine work from the factory a thing of beauty wow and enough power with out spenging a dime something like 425 hp 450 torque

  5. I had a 1970 Coronet R/T 500 with a muncie 4 speed rock crushed / 383 Magnum. I sold the car to friend for $300.00 dollars. I don't know what it's worth now but I'm sure it goes for more than $300.00 lol .

  6. Back in the day in 1964" my friend's Brother in law lets us Barrow his 64 Galaxy Convertible" with a 390 and Cruise Omatic" strictly stock" it just couldn't get beat on the street" to this day I have respect for that heavy ass Galaxy 390 Cruise Omatic"
Ps This is coming from a Chevy Man all my life"

  7. These cars were "Gods" in their days. Now, they're "Saints"! One great car was Plymouth's 1967 Belvedere GTX with its one year exclusive cylinder heads. 375 "rated" horsepower. More like 450. Not bad considering the 440 was not a "race" engine designed to rev. They were designed and built for "luxury" cars and the torque was to spin all the accessories including the A/C compressor. Why could you not get A/C on Street Hemi's? Because they revved so high, the A/C compressors wouldn't be covered under warranty when they grenaded.  Little known fact: Plymouth's Superbird and Dodge Daytona's had the wing on the back high so you could open the trunk. That's it. Had nothing to do with "better down force". Argue if you may, but it's true.

  8. 3:16: "335hp"? Yeah, right! More like 430 (or more) The factories intentionally underrated them to appease the US Government. Hell, my 2017 Chevy Silverado with its 326 V8 is rated at 345hp. I doubt if I could beat the Mustang but then again, I got 1,000 pounds on him. (HP ratings are taken with no accessory drive(s), etc.)
